
An Elvis Presley personally used and worn gifted shirt. This western styled tan shirt with black yoke and cuff was the uniform of members of The Starlite Wranglers. The Starlite Wranglers was a band led by Doug Poindexter and included musicians Scotty Moore and Bill Black. In 1954, Presley began sitting in with the band, with Moore and Black backing him. Presley gave this shirt to a girlfriend, Mary Joyce. When the Hillbilly band The Starlite Wranglers became uncomfortable with the non-Hillbilly fans who were attending their concerts, Moore, Black and Presley were asked to go their own way. When this photograph was take in late 1954, Presley had already given his shirt away and could not match his band members in the photograph. A label reads "Las Vegas by Cowboy Joe Authentic Western Form - Fit." Yoke and collar are trimmed with multicolor accents. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Joyce's niece that explains the shirt was in her family's possession until it was sold in 2009. formerly owned by The Elvis Museum in Las Vegas and sold a few years later to a private collector. Have a piece of the beginnings of Elvis Presley's rise to stardom and known forever as "The King of Rock n Roll".
