Exceptional piece of Elvis Presley well known jewelry collection. A 1922 Twenty Dollar Walking Liberty Gold Piece necklace, very heavy, large 14k gold necklace, encrusted with 38 large diamonds. Black Onyx accents at top and bottom. This is one of three similar necklaces owned and worn by Elvis in the mid 1970's. Each one had the same basic design, but varied slightly. The other two have never surfaced anywhere in the Elvis world.
This particular necklace was personally owned and worn by Elvis, and later given to Charlie Hodge. After selling many items to the Mike Moon Museum in the late 1980's, Charlie did not sell this, and kept it for many years, as it held a very special meaning to him. Elvis gave it to him in his bedroom at Graceland after a very private conversation and Charlie treasured it for many years.
Near the end of his life, Charlie personally gave it to a very close friend of his. He never asked Charlie for a letter, because it was a gift he never thought he would part with it himself. Comes with a letter from Shawn Klush, Graceland's top tribute artist who has been touring the world for years.
