Marilyn Monroe's film production own and worn rhinestone bracelets. Exceptional piece of Marilyn history!
The details of which film Marilyn wore them in has been lost in the passage of time. Upon researching Marilyn Monroe's glamour and publicity photographs, Monroe can be seen wearing/holding bracelets similar to the ones in this auction but due to the photographs being of lower quality it is hard to say for sure.
The bracelets look as if they could have been worn in "How To Marry A millionaire" or during the screen test of Marilyn Monroe's burlesque outfit which she was originally going to wear while singing "Diamonds are A Girl's Best Friend" but after it was found out she posed for nude photos the studio gave demands to "cover her up" and the costume was put in storage.
The bracelets come from the personal collection of Sidney Rosenstein who worked in the motion picture industry, on both coasts, from the 1940's through the mid-1980's.
Over the years of his working in the industry, Rosenstein acquired a collection of cinema and star memorabilia. He obtained these bracelets from Inez Melson, Marilyn Monroe's business manager in the early 1960's, shortly after Monroe's death.
The bracelets are accompanied by a photo of Marilyn holding the bracelets and a letter of provenance from Sidney Rosenstein's son David Rosenstein, the Executor of his Estate, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity.
